Big things are coming to the North. 🏀❄️ Basketball NWT is making history with the inaugural North of 60 Classic Presented by Air North — bringing six Canadian university women’s basketball programs to Yellowknife from October 7–12, 2026. This event is about more than basketball. It’s about creating opportunities for Northern youth, building pathways to post-secondary sport, and showing young athletes across the North that they belong on the national stage. We’re especially excited to welcome home four Yellowknife athletes who will return to compete in front of the community that helped shape their journey. Over five days, local athletes will connect with university players and coaches, teams will engage in Indigenous cultural learning experiences, and communities will come together to celebrate sport, culture, and Northern excellence.
